Many ticket buyers hesitate to purchase tickets until the last minute due to concerns about being stuck with them if plans change.
To help alleviate this risk and make the decision easier for them, while also boosting your sales in advance, it's a great idea to offer attendees the ability to cancel or refund their own tickets.
To enable this functionality, simply follow these steps:
- Log in to your Ticketbutler event organiser account.
- Select the specific event you want to configure.
- Click on "Ticket settings and discounts".
- Check the box that says "Attendees can refund/cancel tickets".
- Set the deadline by which participants can cancel or refund their orders (e.g., the same date as a potential food ordering deadline if your attendees will be provided with meals).
- When/if a ticket buyer chooses to cancel or refund their ticket, the ticket will automatically become available for sale again, increasing the number of tickets available.
Pro Tip #1:
If you choose to enable this feature, make sure to market your event by highlighting the unique opportunity for ticket buyers to cancel or refund their tickets until a specific date set by you.
Pro Tip #2:
Activate the waitlist feature simultaneously. If your event is sold out and a ticket buyer cancels their order, those on the waitlist will automatically receive an email notifying them of the newly available tickets.
